Lacrosse is the oldest team sport in North America, dating back to the 1400s. Native Americans played games that lasted from dawn to sunset, often spanning several days and occasionally resembling warfare. Several tribes called the game of lacrosse "Little Brother of War." Others called it "Baggataway," which roughly translates to "they bump hips." Lacrosse as we know it was standardized in 1867 by George Beers, and continues to grow in popularity worldwide as "the fastest sport on foot."
Deborah Campbell is one of only a few artists depicting lacrosse scenes. Her affordable prints capture the exciting action unique to the sport: rough contact, amazing contortions, soaring leaps and even a dance-like grace. If lacrosse is your passion, you'll enjoy these unique images in your home or office. And Deborah's lacrosse prints make great gifts for players, coaches, referees and fans!

Although the players, colors and jersey numbers in the lacrosse prints sold through this website cannot be changed, Deborah can create a custom lacrosse print featuring your favorite player or team. Custom prints are based on photographs of players supplied by clients and they do cost more because they are one-of-a-kind pieces, never sold to the general public. Email Deborah at SpdStudio@aol.com and ask for details.
